On a beautiful Wednesday, October 4th, 2023, I had the privilege of attending a heartwarming event – Eve’s first birthday celebration. This event was particularly special as it marked one of the first few occasions I attended after moving to Australia. I was deeply touched by the warmth and generosity of Eve’s mother, who extended a personal and professional invitation to join in this memorable day.
A Taste of Home:
The event was filled with delights, including one that brought a taste of home to my palate – Chicken Tikka. The aroma and flavor instantly transported me back to familiar kitchens and shared meals. I couldn’t resist and savored every bite, even inquiring about the possibility of taking some home, although the dish had been enjoyed by many, and there was none left to spare.
A Joyous Program:
The celebration was filled with a well-organized program that added to the festivity. Eve’s parents took to the stage to perform a beautiful dance dedicated to their daughter’s first birthday. Their love and care shone brightly, making it a touching and memorable moment.
New Connections:
One of the highlights of the day was the opportunity to meet new faces within the Nepalese community. It was heartening to connect with others who had also made Australia their home. As we shared stories and experiences, a sense of belonging and camaraderie grew.
